Why Choose Me For Piano Lessons?
I believe everyone comes to our world with musical ability. As a music teacher, it's my duty to foster and inspire this natural capacity. I strive to bring out the innate musicality in each and every student. Music is a necessary part of life and children need the beauty and expression of music just as much as they need to know how to read and multiply.
I also believe that the relationship between teacher, student, and parent is essential to the success of music lessons. We all have a very important role to play, and when we work together the result is a positive and rewarding experience. The student will develop discipline, sensitivity, the ability to focus, ability to analyze and solve problems, in addition to the joy of making music.
I recognize that every student has unique needs and abilities; therefore I adjust my teaching approach to address those needs and maximize their potential. I believe that everyone is capable of learning music and that teaching includes a never-ending journey of discovery to find out what enables you to be a successful learner.

There are many types of keyboards out there so I’ve put together this information to make things easier for you to understand and to make your purchase. If you want to buy a keyboard on a budget you should do your best to get an 88-key keyboard. Get one with a piano touch. The best way would be to purchase it from Amazon, Costco, or Sams. You should try to stay within your budget but you also want your child to have a wonderful musical experience with the best possible instrument. It is highly advised that if your child continues to show interest consider buying a digital piano in the second year of piano lessons.

I do offer trial lessons. The lesson rate for a trial lesson is $38. After that, you can decide if you want to invest in a monthly contract. It is perfectly okay to try before you buy the package.

At this time I do not offer piano recitals but possibly later we can plan an online recital for online students and we can plan an in-person recital for in-person students. That is always a possibility based on need. It is great to have planned times to play for each other and for family and friends.

If a lesson is missed I offer either a video lesson and send it to you pre-recorded. If your lessons are in person I can either give you a Zoom lesson at your regular time or I can send a video lesson. There are no make-up lessons or lessons assigned at different times or days. You are buying the time slot for that lesson., so thank you for understanding my policy.

A student can start lessons ideally around age 6 but if you would like your child to start lessons at ages 4 and 5 it all depends on the child and the support that the child will have at home.

You are never too old for lessons. Adult lessons are also offered. It's great to take lessons as adults. Skills such as reading music and playing notes with two hands are great skills.
